• Progress Photos: Photos of your skin for AI analysis and progress tracking
• Food Scanner Data: Photos, barcodes, or text entries of food items you scan for skin impact analysis
• Chatbot Conversations: Questions and interactions with our AI Skincare Advisor
• Subscription Information: Your subscription tier and purchase history

When you access our Service, we automatically collect:

4. AI Processing and Data

Skinixa uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized recommendations. Here is how your data is used with AI:

• Product Matching: Your skin profile data is processed by our AI to match you with suitable products from our database
• Ingredient Analysis: AI analyzes product ingredients to check for conflicts and time-of-day suitability
• Skin Analysis: If you upload photos, AI analyzes them to provide skin health scores across clarity, texture, tone, hydration, and radiance metrics
• Food Scoring: Food items you scan are analyzed by AI to determine their potential impact on skin health
• Routine Timer Estimation: AI estimates optimal application times for each step in your skincare routine
• Chatbot Responses: Your questions to our AI Skincare Advisor are processed to generate helpful responses
• Third-Party AI: We use Anthropic's Claude API to power certain AI features. Your data sent to these services is subject to their privacy policies

We do not use your personal photos or skin data to train AI models. Your data is used solely to provide you with personalized recommendations and insights.

5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Skinixa offers subscription plans (Pro and Premium) through the Apple App Store. Regarding subscription data:

• Payment Processing: All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details, bank account information, or Apple Pay credentials
• Subscription Management: We use Adapty, a third-party subscription management platform, to track subscription status and manage access levels. Adapty receives your subscription status and product identifiers
• Tier Tracking: Your subscription tier (Free, Pro, or Premium) is stored in our database to enforce feature access and usage limits
• Purchase History: We maintain a record of your subscription tier changes for account management purposes
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

We work with third-party service providers who help us operate our Service:

6.2 Affiliate Partners

When you click on product links, you may be redirected to third-party retailers (Amazon, Ulta, Sephora, and others). These retailers may collect their own data subject to their privacy policies. We may earn affiliate commissions from purchases made through these links.

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests, such as court orders or subpoenas.

7. Photo Storage and Privacy

If you use our progress tracking or skin analysis features, your photos are handled with care:

• Secure Storage: Photos are stored securely in Supabase with encryption
• Private by Default: Your photos are only visible to you and are not shared publicly
• No AI Training: Your photos are not used to train AI models
• AI Analysis: Photos are processed by AI to generate skin health scores and insights, for your use only
• Data Retention: Photos are retained to maintain your progress history and tracking accuracy
• Account Deletion: All photos are permanently deleted when you delete your account
• Limited Access: Only you can view your progress photos through your authenticated account

8. Face Data Collection and Use

Skinixa collects face data through photos you voluntarily take using the app's camera feature. This section specifically addresses how face data is handled.

8.1 What Face Data We Collect

When you use the Skin Analysis or Progress Tracking features, you may take a photo of your face. The photo is captured by the app and sent to our servers for analysis. We do not collect facial geometry, biometric identifiers, or any data used for facial recognition or identification purposes.

8.2 How Face Data Is Used

• Your face photo is sent to our backend server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude AI for skin health analysis
• The AI evaluates your skin across five metrics: clarity, texture, tone, hydration, and radiance
• The AI returns a numerical score and text-based insights — no facial recognition or biometric identification is performed
• Your photo is stored in our Supabase database so you can track your skin progress over time

8.3 Third-Party Processing of Face Data

Face photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered skin analysis. Anthropic processes the image to generate skin health scores and does not store the image beyond the duration of the API request. Anthropic's handling of data is governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

No other third parties receive your face data.

8.4 Face Data Retention

Face photos are retained in your account for as long as your account is active, to support progress tracking and skin health history. When you delete your account, all face photos and associated analysis data are permanently deleted within 30 days.

8.5 Your Control Over Face Data

• Face photos are only captured when you actively choose to take a photo — the camera is never used without your action
• Before your first use of AI features, the app asks for your explicit consent to send data to our AI service
• You can delete your entire account and all associated face data at any time from the Profile screen in the app

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
• Secure authentication through Supabase with JWT tokens
• Secure token storage on mobile devices using encrypted device storage
• Regular security assessments and updates
• Access controls limiting who can view your data
• Password hashing and secure storage
• Row-level security for database access
• Rate limiting on API endpoints to prevent abuse

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, including photos, skin profile data, usage tracking records, and subscription records, within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

12. Children's Privacy

Skinixa is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

13. Cookies and Device Storage

Mobile App

Our mobile app uses secure on-device storage (encrypted preferences) to store authentication tokens, user data, and cached information. This data stays on your device and is cleared when you log out or delete the app.
